Education

I obtained my M.A. in Teaching from UC Davis (2010-2011) with a GPA of 3.95. I received a Bilingual Elementary Teaching Credential from UC Davis (2009-2010) with a GPA of 4.0. I earned a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Washington (2002-2006) with a GPA of 3.8.

Experience

I have four years teaching experience, including two years in the Hillsboro School District, teaching in a fifth grade classroom and a bilingual first grade classroom. I also taught second grade at the International School of Panama for two years. I am currently working part-time as a substitute teacher for Portland Public Schools. I have tutored for a number of families over the past four years. I have tutored students in reading, writing, math, Spanish and ESL. As a tutor, I will help your child gain academic skills and build confidence by providing them with the targeted, one-on-one instruction that he/she deserves.

Hobbies

At this time in my life, I am staying home with my one-year-old son. I am also working part time as a substitute teacher and a tutor. I speak Spanish and I have a lot of experience working with students from a variety of backgrounds. I enjoy tutoring children aged from kindergarten to 8th grade in any subject. My interests include travel, scuba diving, cooking, knitting, reading, writing, speaking Spanish, hiking and riding my bicycle.
