I hold a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in magazine writing, which included graduate-level courses in writing and editing, as well as graduate-level training in grammar. I love teaching and making difficult things relatable. With tutoring, I specialize in high school and college writing. I can help with essay planning, organization, proofreading. I can help students learn how to wade through piles of research and ideas and turn those ideas and arguments into an effective paper. I can also help with resumes, cover letters, personal statements and college admissions essays. I teach in creative, interactive ways so that you/your student will retain what she has learned and apply it in the future. Students love the way I teach because I like to make it fun. If your student likes pirates and video games, I will have your student write a research paper using those topics so we can get at larger issues like how to form an argument, where to put a comma and more. I work with what your student likes to teach the skills he/she needs to be an excellent writer. Parents love the results they see.
