Private tutor in Portland, OR
Education
Portland State University '14, French, 3.6 GPA, member of Phi Sigma Iota (honor society for students of foreign languages)
Experience
Private tutor for high school students, 2013 -- present I'm interested in teaching in the future and enjoy gaining experience through tutoring, not to mention the pride I feel helping others to break through their confusion and come to better understanding. I genuinely want to help others succeed because I've seen too many people I know give up or fail just because their own needs were not being completely met. I've completed the 300 level series of language courses in this subject, plus film, literature, and history courses about the French language and culture. I've always been very intrigued by how all languages work and their histories. Linguistics is an area of study I'm frequently dabbling in. I'm a creative person who loves the challenge of figuring out problems and ways to work with different students' learning styles and challenges.

Hobbies
I enjoy a wide range of music and literature, foreign films, baking, and craft projects such as sewing and knitting. I also try my best to keep up with changing technologies, though I appreciate and savor the way we humans have done things in the "old days" too. (For example, canning foods; my sister and I make jam and apple sauce every year!)
