Experience
I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from the Republic of Moldova, where I learned Russian, and taught English as a Foreign Language. I taught mainly middle and high school levels. I studied International Relations at university, and therefore know about and understand recent historical and political events. Folklore and Mythology are my personal interests and took quite a few classes on them at university. I am knowledgeable about some ancient epic tales: the Illiad, the Odyssey, and the Aeneid. I also took a class focused on Celtic literature, and the Vampire figure in literature. British literature is my favourite type, and I have read many of these in my personal time. I also possess great public speaking skills, as I have spoken at various seminars in the Peace Corps about different causes, as well as speaking at my University's Human Rights Summit in April 2012, on Human Trafficking. I would like to be a tutor because I loved teaching as a Peace Corps Volunteer and tutoring is an avenue for me to continue that.
