Experience

Having taught since ninth grade, I can tutor students in physics, math, biology, and music. When working with someone, it's important to cater to their needs and their individual means of learning and understanding. I've instructed students in various capacities, having worked as a classroom teacher, summer school proctor, and teaching assistant. These have taught me numerous methods and techniques and strengthened my mentoring abilities in teaching or test prep. Teaching one-on-one has drawn me in as I am able to form relationships and craft my teaching style to the way an individual student thinks.When I started teaching piano in ninth grade, I learned I had a new found passion. I began by teaching my neighbors and enjoyed it so much, I joined the Experimenters, a group in my college that taught kindergarten students through twelfth graders science and math. We worked in various after school programs across Boston and participated in organizing curricula for different subjects and age groups.I have a degree in biophysics and music and have taught in both these fields. Having attended Harvard University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, I also find time to read, hike, play music, and go exploring in the city.
