Experience

The one on one experience is something I really enjoy. I tutor reading and writing up to the 12th grade level. A certified ESL teacher, I can help in this area and in subjects such as elementary math (up to 8th grade), literature, grammar, essay editing, persuasive writing, fiction writing, and poetry writing. I have a lot of experience tutoring and have helped many students do well in their studies. When I tutor, I try to get to know my students well, build a rapport, and make the learning experience an enjoyable one. This approach lets me devote all my attention to one student so I can accurately assess their needs and facilitate their progress.Learning can be fun, and should be for every student. If someone enjoys learning, the more dedication and efficiency you'll see when teaching them. I studied at the University of Vermont and earned a degree in philosophy and English. Recently, I spent time in China where I was the head of the English department and also privately tutored students there. I also work with elementary school students eligible for government supplementary education services. My favorite things are hiking, reading, writing, traveling, and science fiction.
