Experience
I spent nearly a decade teaching science in Dallas, Texas. I've lectured middle and high school students and taught small groups as well as individual students in integrated science and biology. I'm on a mission to instill an interest in science so that students are motivated to become scientifically literate. My goal is to make science a fun experience for children, so that they develop a lifeline interest in learning. Teaching has helped me develop the skills required to help students learn concepts and study more effectively. I am hoping to inspire some to work towards a career in science. My instructional methods are varied. I have learned to use scaffolding, and different strategies, including demonstrations to deliver instruction. Whatever is necessary to ensure that students are actually learning the information I present and using their knowledge to the fullest, that is what I will do in tutoring sessions. When I am not teaching, I love to read, go biking, workout at the gym, and watch lots of documentary films.
