Experience
I relate well with students, as I am one myself. Having encountered complicated subjects during my education, I do my best to put myself in their place when tutoring. To me, it is more about building a strong educational foundation. I am willing to find out where a student is in their studies and help them reach their full potential. There is nothing more thrilling than seeing a student have confidence in a subject they once felt unsure about. My tutoring experience came while I was still enrolled in college. While at Western Washington University, I met with students to mentor them in organic and general chemistry. More recently, I've been allowed to direct discussions in these same fields at Boston College.I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Washington University in Biochemistry and I am currently working toward my master's in teaching. I have also completed 18 months of doctoral courses in synthetic chemistry with Boston College. I am a past member of two organic chemistry research teams and have had the opportunity to publish some of my findings. When I am not pursuing academics or teaching, I can often be found cooking, settling down with a book, listening to a variety of musical genres, and enjoying jazz dancing, especially the Lindy Hop.
