I just graduated Summa Cum Lauda this past May with my Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY. My overall GPA was 3.95. I'm currently doing my Master's at Lewis and Clark in Professional Mental Health Counseling. I also spent a semester abroad in Argentina, and a year of high school abroad in the Netherlands.
Experience
I currently also work for Varsity Tutors, and I worked as a tutor on campus throughout my undergrad. I love helping, especially helping students understand material that I am passionate about. I spent my undergrad tutoring Spanish and psychology. For the past year I worked with children in trauma-focused therapy. Through this experience I grew to be extremely patient and understanding with children. I saw how they each grow and learn at their own pace, and learned to navigate behavioral challenges to still be able to make progress. I love working with kids, and helping them to be excited about learning, instead of discouraged or frustrated. In counseling, we often helped the children with writing and reading through different therapeutic exercises. Writing has always been a passion for me, and it has been something that I've grown immensely in over the past four years of my undergraduate. I often assisted fellow students in the planning, organization, and editing of writing assignments such as research and term papers. I graduated summa cum laude, highest honors in both psychology and Spanish, and I studied abroad in Argentina. I also studied abroad in the Nethetlands during my junior year of high school for one year so I also speak Dutch fluently.
