Bachelors degree of Science from Oregon State University in Dietetics (2006) 3 years of engineering studies from Clackamas Community College and Eastern Oregon University I have many math classes, including calculus, algebra, and statistics. I am the go-to person among my family and friends for math and statistics questions.

Experience

I tutored calculus while attending community college and I loved it! I took many math classes in college, including algebra, trigonometry, statistics and calculus. I currently work in the mortgage department of a large bank and utilize many of my math skills. I enjoy teaching my colleague necessary calculations for mortgages and risk assessment. I want to tutor math for so many reasons . I love teaching. I love math. I want to help kids (or adults!) achieve the comprehension needed to apply math skills. Math is not just a subject, it is what makes the world go around. Understanding how to apply numbers to one's everyday life enables one to be successful. How can you utilize product sales to your advantage without knowing if you will actually be saving money? How can you interpret statistics without what statistics represent? The application of math is my passion. Math does not become outdated.

Hobbies

I enjoy my many pets, running, and reading about math "tricks." I spend a lot of my time finding things to calculate in real life. Algebra is a very useful tool. I use algebra for figuring cost of groceries and setting my running pace for 10k races and marathons. I use my statistics skills to interpret data from popular studies.
