i am an established private chemistry tutor and am using this site to branch out and expand my client network. I also worked for the british company 'mytutorweb' while studying for my undergrad and have formal classroom experience, having taught a lab at the University of Central Oklahoma. I find breaking down complex scientific ideas into bite-sized chunks to be extremely rewarding, especially when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they attain a new level of understanding. From my experience as a high-scoring chemistry student at University, as well as being a professor I know how to train students to not only understand the questions fully but to give the appropriate answers in tests and other assessments. Chemistry is a subject that many students find difficult, and I relish the opportunity to make it easier! I specialize in college level chemistry courses, including General, Organic and Introductory chemistry. However, I also have experience tutoring high school students in AP chemistry and physical science. I have an informal teaching style, often using jokes and mnemonics to help students retain knowledge and my lessons consist of short, but informative explanations which are often supplemented by physical demonstrations. My instruction is interspersed with problems for the student to complete. However, this template is flexible and I adjust my style to the needs of the individual. I usually conduct a short, free consultation with the student in person (parent can be present if needed), so that we can establish exactly what the student needs from our sessions.
