Experience
I earned my bachelor of arts, with a professional distinction, in Spanish and Environmental Studies, from the University of Oregon. I began my tutoring career even before that, as I first began tutoring when I was in high school, through a program that matched students who wanted to teach with students who wanted help learning. I have experience in other teaching settings, such as when I worked in a bilingual kindergarten class teaching reading, and mentored freshman students who needed help as they adjusted to high school curriculum and studies. Once I was at university, I helped to create and implement materials to use when tutoring students in Spanish, and volunteered as a tutor in the community where my college was located. In order to receive my professional distinction, I completed three separate internships. For one, I translated scientific and legal papers from English to Spanish for an environmental law organization. Since graduating from university, I have had the opportunity to tutor students in after school programs. I studied in Spain for awhile, and while there, I tutored students from that local community, as well. I truly love tutoring Spanish, and am also able to tutor ESL, environmental science, guitar, and English.
