I'm a tutor in the Portland area that specializes in math and science subjects. I like to make sessions engaging for students, and I try to instill in my students the opportunities that can be afforded to them through successful learning. I enjoy helping students realize that science and math subjects are attainable for them and important to understand regardless of their eventual career path. One thing that helps all students are the critical thinking and problem solving skills they develop when learning math and science. When I work with students, I relate concepts to applications of them in the real world to make them seem less abstract and make understanding and retention easier. I also encourage students to embrace the communicative sides of the subjects to refine their reading and writing skills as well. I can assist students in algebra, chemistry, geometry, biology, physical chemistry, physics, pre-calculus, trigonometry, competition math, study skills and organization, physical science, earth science, elementary and middle school general science, and other science and math topics. When I have spare time, I enjoy sports, reading, and travel.
