Reed College - Current Undergrad, Philosophy

Hi, I'm Dan, I currently work overnight shifts in homeless shelters and now I am hoping to tutor as well. I am a philosophy major. I took a four year break after high school so I could work, do some soul-searching, take care of medical issues, and travel. I am very passionate about learning and I love to get others excited about it too. I am able to help with subjects such as math, geometry, history, algebra, and test prep. I would love to work with students of any age, from elementary age to college. My tutoring style includes asking my pupils a lot of guiding questions, instead of just handing them tons of answers. This method leads to students getting excited because they are able to answer things in their own words and not the words of others. I have found that when pupils are able to use their own voice, they are more excited. I am looking forward to studying with you and helping you reach your academic goals. When I am not working, you can find me playing guitar, cooking, rock climbing, and doing basically anything outdoors.
