Natalie B.
Private tutor in Portland, OR
Education
B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Spanish from University of Portland, Class of 2011; current OHSU medical student
Experience
I tailor my teaching style to the learning style and preferences of my students. I like to incorporate a wide variety of methods, including visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (when applicable) in order to make the material more relevant and memorable to the student. I have privately tutored all ages from 7 to 20 in subjects from basic math, reading, and writing, high school chemistry, algebra, precalculus, AP Biology and SAT biology prep, and college-level chemistry and biology. I have experience tutoring an elementary-aged student from Guatemala in both Spanish and English and studied abroad in Spain. I also spent three years leading a college-level weekly workshop of 9-15 students for Introductory Biology. I come from a medical background and would be happy to incorporate this into our lessons if this is something you would be interested in. I am available for homework help over the summer but can also design a review curriculum around a student's textbook based on their learning needs. I am very flexible, patient, and receptive to feedback. I look forward to giving your child the extra help they need or helping you get through a tough summer college class.
