Education
I attended the Catlin Gabel School from K-12 where I acquired exemplary writing style in line with E.B. Strunk and William Strunk's "The Elements of Style". I am now in my Junior year as a philosophy major at the University of Washington. I am a departmental honors student in philosophy. I received the philosophy department's "Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar" award for the 2008-2009 acdemic year. I am on the University of Washington's Anual Dean's List for the 2006-2007, 2007-2008, and 2008-2009 academic years. I currently maintain a general GPA of 3.86 and a philosophy GPA of 3.94. I have also been hired as a Philosophy Writing Center tutor for the 2009-2010 academic year at UW. I am most comfortable with modern western philosophy and contemporary writing in the analytic tradition, however, I am well prepared to deal with continental and ancient philosophy.
Experience
As stated in the previous section I have been hired as a tutor in the University of Washington's Philosophy Writing Center. I have a 3.86 general GPA and a 3.94 philosophy GPA. I have been named "Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar" by the University of Washington philosophy department for the 2008-2009 academic year. I have appeared in the annual Dean's List for every year that I have attended UW. Relevant classes that I have taken include: Modern Philosophy, Ancient Philosophy, Philosophy of Kant, 20th Century Philosophy (including Russel, Quine, Sellars and the later Wittegenstein), Philosophy of Language, First Order Propositional Logic with Quantifiers, Non-Classical Logic, Epistemology, Philosophy of Cognitive Science, Philosophy of Biology, and Philosophy of Human Rights. I am also well prepared to tutor in ethics.
