Experience
Holding a graduate degree from a top university, I am well-versed in classical and contemporary social theory, proficient in Spanish, and possess a superior understanding of English grammar and composition. From 2006 to 2011 I worked at The Learning Center at Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York. There I served as an English composition tutor for one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse student bodies in the world, assisting students with essay composition and homework, and brainstorming strategies for academic success with multiple students from diverse backgrounds. I have been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships in subjects ranging from poetry (Carole Livingston Rose Memorial Scholarship for a female poet of merit, 2006 and 2009) to human ecodynamics (National Science Foundation REU Grant for research on the human ecodynamics of Iceland, 2011) and have research experience ranging from linguistics to archaeology. A working scholar, I will be presenting at the December 2014 meeting of the American Anthropological Association, and the April 2015 meeting of the American Association of Geographers.
