These intensive year-long classes were targeted to help students acquire expository writing skills, study skills, and a fluency with a broad range of disciplines in order to succeed in their chosen degree courses. -Beyond Oxford, the Open University, and various English language programs, other long-term teaching experience includes Stanford University's Oxford Program and the international Erasmus scholars program. -Winner of the UK/Ireland Young Program's Thinker of the Year Award 2010 (a public speaking and rhetoric award) -Former editor of the Oxonian Review of Books; media liaison for the Montreal International Poetry Prize. -Author of a forthcoming book from OSU Press (2015) and of many academic and popular articles. -Currently a writer, part-time educator, and a consultant for a number of arts nonprofits.

Hobbies
One of the reasons I moved back to Portland was because I missed being close to my family and to the outdoors: I'm an avid hiker, skier, and traveler, as well as local history and geology geek. I'm an enthusiastic supporter of a number of local arts and humanities organizations (drama, visual art, dance, music, intercultural); I'm on a handful of nonprofit boards/committees; and I'm also a photographer and choral singer (I'm more enthusiastic than I am talented).
