SAT English Score:660/800. After graduating from Knox College, I was invited to join the United States Peace Corps and teach English as a Second Language in the Philippines for two years. I held district workshops for teachers and maintained demonstration classes in cities on the island of Mindanao. Returning to New York City, I taught adult classes in English for two years at night. My students came from countries all over the world. I then moved to Hawaii and taught elementary classes of recently immigrated Vietnamese children at Kaneohe Elementary School. For nine years I hosted Japanese and Swiss students in my home while they studied English as a second language at the University of Hawaii. I tutored all of them as they completed their studies and some, their TOFL test. During a 27 year career in non-profit administration, I was marketing director for 17 years for the Great Aloha Run. The run was second only to the Honolulu Marathon in number of runners (26,000 runners) and funds raised. The race was marketed throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. I also earned my professional certification as a Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and an Accredited Public Relations (APR).

Hobbies
Ib enjoy teaching and tutoring very much. While teaching I incorporate current news topics, fashion, music and sports as conversation starters with my students so they can easily use their new skills in relevant conversation. All of my lessons use real life situations to teach English grammar, reading, listening skills and vocabulary.
