Private tutor in Portland, OR
University of Oregon - BS, Anthropology
I am a tutor with extensive experience in studying and teaching science courses. While completing my undergraduate studies I worked with student athletes in the subject areas of biology, anthropology, chemistry, and geology. I am also comfortable with microbiology, biochemistry, life sciences, and ecology. I am also capable of teaching in areas not related to science such as math, English, literature, and public speaking. While I have the ability to tutor students in a wide variety of subject areas, I have the most passion for biology and chemistry. I have the necessary experience to help prepare students for the SATs and tutor them in courses at the Honors and AP level. I graduated with honors from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a minor in Biology. While attending college, I worked as a teaching assistant in the subject areas of anatomy and biology. I am currently working to complete the necessary prerequisites for medical school. I have also been involved with tutoring students in biology and chemistry in an informal capacity. Outside of school, I like to rock climb, run, and hike. Overall, I enjoy tutoring because I enjoy the process of helping each individual student develop a method of learning that works the best for him or her.
