Experience
I attended the University of Oregon, where I received my bachelor's in English, then went on to Portland State University for my master's in History. For a year and a half, I was an assistant teacher at Portland where my assignments helped me develop my skills in teaching. This experience gave me the opportunity to work with students with diverse backgrounds, individually and in groups. I also have experience helping high schoolers advance their reasoning and writing skills. As a teacher, I feel that it is important that I give my students the tools they need to meet specific standards and their goals, and I share my own methods to help them improve their reading and writing. I am available to tutor many different subjects, including Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, American History, World History, Geometry, English, along with AP and IB courses. I can also help with preparations for the ACT, SAT, GMAT, and PSAT exams. When I have free time, I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar, urban hiking, and watching movies.
