I am a tutor from Portland, Oregon. For two years, I have tutored elementary and secondary school students in the subjects of reading and in math topics, ranging from arithmetic to algebra 2. Since being a high school student in Minnesota, I have always enjoyed teaching people. It was during this time that I started tutoring other students, helping them improve in their respective math courses and honing their writing and editing skills. Because I was especially captivated by nature, the world around me, and science, I chose to major in environmental biology at Principia College. I received my bachelor's degree in environmental biology from this school where I also worked as a biology Teaching Assistant, teaching students how to write effectively in this science discipline. Students have a deep yearning to learn, experience, and explore the world around them. I am a patient and fun-loving tutor whose desire is to guide and motivate students in their school subjects as well as help them realize their true potential. I truly enjoy my work as a tutor. Presently, I am enrolled in an urban sustainable agriculture class. During my free time, some of the activities I am involved with are yoga, music, and tending my garden. I am also an outdoor enthusiast, who especially likes to go hiking.
