My goal as a tutor is to connect with students and respond to their learning needs. I focus on encouraging their understanding of the material so they gain confidence in each subject. I enjoy tutoring Social Studies, Math, and English the most. It is gratifying to successfully instruct the intricacies of an algebra problem to explaining grammar fundamentals. I have several years experience as an international folk dance instructor for middle school children. This involved teaching social studies and geography. I have classroom teaching experience at the middle school and high school levels. I have also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults, as well as one-on-one instruction in Language Arts and Math. I tutor middle school core subjects, middle school and high school English and Grammar, as well as Math up to Algebra II. I have a B.A. in Sociology from Oregon State University. I enjoy reading about science, exploring STEM topics (microbiology, chemistry, and 3D printing). Also, I have a passion for World and U.S. History.
