I have taught and tutored young kids to adults in typical classroom settings and outside in the wilderness. I tutored students in all subject areas while I was living in China. I work for the National Outdoor Leadership School as a River Instructor and teach fundamental whitewater skills, camping and other outdoor skills, conceptual leadership classes, and natural sciences. I love to have fun while learning and enjoy working with young people.

Hobbies

In my free time I like to be outside, mainly paddling whitewater rivers. I also love to ski, bike, climb, and play lots of soccer. I have been teaching in a variety of capacities for many years and get excited to show people new skills and ideas they can use and put in to practice. I have had lots of success by using a variety of teaching styles and lots of patience. I like to push people just beyond their comfort zone to show them what they can accomplish.
