I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Skidmore College. I am fluent in Spanish, having spent time in Argentina and Costa Rica while studying the language in college. I specialize in tutoring Spanish (native speakers and English to Spanish speakers.) I am passionate about the Spanish language, and am enthusiastic about helping students learn it. I know from personal experience how challenging picking up a second language can be. Studying a language is something that takes focus and dedication from both the teacher and the student. I can say with confidence that I am committed to helping students achieve understanding.I also have experience helping students prep college essays and summer internship grant proposals. I enjoy teaching the nuts and bolts of writing, the grammar and mechanics. I can also help with editing, reading, and public speaking. I am committed to preparing engaging and fun lessons and activities to help make language learning easier for students. I try to tailor my lessons and tutoring to where the student is, and their individual learning styles, needs, and goals. I always learn a lot from my students. In my spare time, I do yoga, read, hike, and work in my garden.
