Experience
As a fully-licensed educator with seven years of experience teaching elementary school students, I am ideally positioned to conduct tutoring sessions for young learners. I am particularly adept at helping students build competency in the Language Arts and Math. I also have experience tutoring IB Psychology SL and HL, IB Social and Cultural Anthropology SL and HL, IB Visual Arts SL and HL, History, Psychology, Social Studies, and Spanish.I became involved with teaching and tutoring because I feel a strong connection to both young students and the learning process. There is something about seeing students make progress that is inspiring. In order to make sure that we get to that point, I have strategies to work with students having a variety of different learning abilities and competencies. I do my best to form trusting, positive relationships with my students. When students feel secure and able to take risks, real learning can take place, and we can all enjoy more of those "lightbulb moments." Mental flexibility, learning, and growth can last throughout our lives, but only if we build them in as habits early on. Even I enjoy the benefits - despite no longer being a child, I still enjoy the pursuit of learning opportunities in my free time. I garden, craft, play games, hike, walk, and even keep bees!
