Experience
I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Art in English and a minor in philosophy. Upon graduating, I moved to Italy and taught English as a foreign language in Rome for two years. While overseas, I discovered that I was passionate about teaching and education. When I returned to the United States, I enrolled in the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed a Ph.D. program in comparative literature, where I specialized in Latin America.During my time as a Ph.D. candidate, I taught a wide range of courses such as literature, Spanish, and writing. In addition to those subjects, I am also capable of teaching reading on any grade level, public speaking, English, Italian, and standardized test preparation. I am able to help any student looking to receive a high mark on the SAT, ACT, GRE, or GMAT.Since 2010, I have been working as a visiting professor. Until 2014, I was employed at Whitman College, where I taught Spanish. At the moment, I am working in the Humanities Department at Lewis and Clark College as a core curriculum teacher.I like to think of myself as an energetic and creative teacher. My goal is to create a connection with my students, allowing me to stimulate and inspire them intellectually.
