Elisa B.
Private tutor in Portland, OR
Education
I graduated Spring 2015 with a BS in mathematics with departmental honors (4.0 in my major) and a minor in philosophy from Portland State University. I'll begin a doctoral program at the University of Oregon this Fall, where I'll be teaching pre-calculus as a Graduate Teaching Fellow. I've been an NSF-funded undergraduate research assistant for 2 years.
Experience
I've been a mathematics tutor through the PSU Leaning Center for 2 years, and tutored privately for 2 years prior. I am certified level 2 CLRA tutor, and have had extensive training focusing on how to adapt to individual learning styles. I enjoy helping students understand mathematics not only to improve their grades and test scores, but also because I find mathematics to be an incredibly meaningful and enjoyable activity.
