Education

I have my Bachelor of Arts in English, minoring in Business and Greek and Roman Civilizations from SUNY Albany - completed in 2011. I graduated Magna-Cum Laude with honors and was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. Afterwards, I took some non-degree graduate courses in English to aid in my decision to attend graduate school, I earned 8 graduate credits during that time period. Instead of getting a Masters of Arts in English, I took time off and applied to law school. I will be starting the fall term at Lewis and Clark Law School at the end of August.

Experience

Previously, I worked at the SUNY Albany Writing Center, tutoring undergraduate and graduate students in al subject matter. A full semester Tutoring Methods course was required to become a Writing Center Tutor. The Center was focused on processed-based writing in which students have a holistic understanding of brainstorming, outlining and drafting. This encourages active thinking and sets any student up for successful writing. With this experience, I am also able to tutor students struggling with reading comprehension. When a student is given the proper tools to understand the fundamentals behind writing they can then fully engage with the subjects they are reading and become an active reader.

Hobbies

I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and swimming. I have been getting to know the Portland area this summer. I have visited Multnomah Falls and the Latourell Falls with the hope of more weekend hikes during the school year. This summer before law school begins, my goal was to travel. I moved here, from Albany, the capitol of New York and drove cross-country to Portland at the end of May. I spent the fourth of July in Chicago followed by two weeks in New York City and Long Island to visit family. I love traveling and hope to continue to explore the Northwest. When I am not spending time outdoors, I enjoy a good fantasy novel, action movie or the occasional video game with friends. I also love cooking and making big family-style meals and then sharing that with family and friends.
