Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Management from Texas A&M University. I have worked in the field of education for the past five years. My professional career began while working for a Harvard University centered effort that tutored disadvantaged urban pupils. I worked with the program my first two years following graduation. I gained my classroom experience teaching algebra I in the classroom. I subsequently received a "Beginning Teacher of the Year" award followed by a "Young Outstanding Educator" award for my efforts. Additionally, I've authored the geometry and algebra curriculums for several high schools. It's my personal belief that anyone can understand math. All that is required is finding each student's unique learning style or ability to grasp the subject. When teaching, I use various props and tools to help students master the discipline. These include, but are not limited to, real life enactments and putting on a costume to play a character. I believe math should be fun and presented in a way that is relatable to students. I strive to achieve this in my work. Whenever I have free time, I keep active playing Frisbee, basketball, hiking, camping out, and spending time with "Rooster Bear," my dog.
