My teaching approach involves employing a multitude of methods and strategies to help engage students with the material and to promote their comprehension in the subject. Although I specialize in Humanities and Social Sciences, I am available to tutor a variety of other subjects, such as Math or preparing for the ACT, SAT, or GRE. My primary interest is in working with advanced high school or college level students. I feel that my experiences of teaching college level courses has given me the ability to assist students to develop critical thinking and study skills that will continue to serve them throughout their academic career. I am a graduate student in Political Science and I will be spending the upcoming year completing and defending my dissertation. Currently, I am working as an adjunct professor for introduction and advanced courses in my field. I also have experience working as a teaching assistant and working in the one-to-one environment during my office hours. I have attended the University of Iowa and the University of Minnesota. During my free time, I enjoy biking, reading, running, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
