Experience
I'm an art student who is exceptionally good at math. I can explain math and standardized testing to both right- and left-brain learners. I'm an experienced test-prep, math, and essay writing tutor, with the scores to prove it. I'm passionate about learning and teaching, and I like tutoring because I never really liked classroom learning. I'm full of creative ways to explain problems. I'm patient and a good listener. I think it makes sense to learn a frustrating subject from someone who shares your frustrations with that subject. If you want help on math, why get it from someone who loves math and has never had to struggle with it? As someone who was ultimately successful in school, but struggled mightily along the way, I have a wider perspective and can empathize with my students. Hobbies
I'm into art and design. I've done lots of painting and graphic design, and currently I'm studying systems design and wondering how to make the world a better place. I like to read and am always trying to learn something new. I'm a sports fan, especially Trailblazers. I'm not quite tall enough for power forward, otherwise I'd give up tutoring to try out. I'm also into cycling. I've worked for years as a bicycle mechanic, and I love riding around the city and on mountain trails. I like being outside, skiing, backpacking, fishing, and ultimate frisbee.
