2 years as a Peer Mentor at Portland State, where I led and instructed a one-hour supplemental class twice a week. I designed lessons, assisted with writing, reading, study skills, college prep, and critical thinking. Worked 15 weeks as a SUN School program assistant, where I worked in Portland Public Schools assisting in a recycled art class as an after-school activity. My degree allowed me to take many classes in many different areas, creating a really diverse breadth of knowledge that I am able to draw on when tutoring. I have techniques from multiple disciplines under my belt, and enjoy mixing and matching them in order to create new ways of absorbing information. I pride myself on being a very empathetic and observant person, and I want to make sure that every one of my students is able to learn in the best way for them.
