I am in my senior year of undergraduate studies at Portland State University. My degree major is English, and I aspire to become a journalist. Here in Portland, Oregon, I have been tutoring for the past five years. After my high school graduation, I got into this line of work as a means to support myself throughout college. I have worked with K-12 students, mostly on reading skills and mathematics but in other subjects as well. I can help with math and English, public speaking, ACT, SAT, and PSAT. I have worked with a large, diverse group, and I have really enjoyed the experiences I've had. There is something so great about getting to know each student that comes along, then having fun with them in a mutually beneficial academic relationship. There is no need for learning to be boring or monotonous. It does not matter if we are having a face-to-face meeting or if we are conducting sessions online, there is much enjoyment to be had. I work at a local radio station as part of my career path in journalism. I am super interested in sports like football, basketball, and soccer. Athletics is pretty much my entire life, as it is the main component of my job, as well.
