Education
I received a BA in International Affairs and Political Economy from Lewis and Clark College, graduating in May 2015 with a 3.5 GPA. I attended public high school (3.8 GPA) and Waldorf school for pre-K through 8th grade. Because of my experience in both private and public education spheres, I believe I can bring a broad range of perspectives to education and learning.
Experience
I got a 4 on the AP Literature and Composition test and a 4 on the AP Language test. I have formal experience tutoring second graders in math for one year at Beach Elementary school in Portland. But beyond that, I have a lot of informal tutoring experience. Throughout high school and college I would provide friends and classmates with writing and editing help as well as support their study strategies. In high school, I was very focused on my english classes and took both AP Lit& Comp and AP Lang. In college, I focused my studies on International Affairs and Political Economics. With this combination of studies I have a well-rounded background in creative writing, college essay prep, opinion/argumentative writing, and research writing. I always did well in math, although it was never my focus, but I am comfortable providing tutor support for elementary math. I also love history and would welcome opportunities to tutor history/geography. I am currently a preschool teacher and have a wide range of experience working with children and teens in a teaching environment. I love working with and supporting the education of both children, teens, and young adults.

Hobbies
I was part of a youth performing circus in Minnesota for 8 years, where I trained, performed, and coached aerial arts and dance. Moving out the the Pacific Northwest has further cultivated my love for the outdoors and I try to hike, camp, kayak, and explore as much as possible. I believe that fostering a sense of global awareness and responsibility should be incorporated further into the education process; I am a huge supporter of foreign language learning. I love music and creating and crafting things.
