I earned a B.S. degree in math (major) and Spanish (minor) from the University of Puget Sound. Throughout high school and post-secondary school, I tutored students, peers as well as younger people, in mathematics.I derive a great deal of personal satisfaction from helping students who require assistance in all level of mathematics, ranging from entry-level algebra and arithmetic all the way up to post-secondary-level calculus.In terms of the areas I most enjoy tutoring, I would have to mention precalculus, calculus, and algebra. My approach is to establish a collaborative partnership between myself and my students so that I can better help them to become less intimidated by mathematics, and to get them to approach the subject matter with more confidence. My goal is for the people I tutor to become more comfortable with math, and to gain a strong grasp of the concepts that they need to eventually master. I have the patience needed to get students to look at problems in various ways so as to communicate the information they need.When I'm not tutoring students, I like to pursue various activities. For instance, I love volunteering for various causes. I also enjoy being in the great outdoors and experiencing everything that the environment has to offer.
