I'm a tutor based in Portland, Oregon, where I received my bachelor's degree in linguistics from Portland State University. I have always enjoyed studying languages, and have lived in diverse corners of the world like China, Germany, and France. My interest in the world has also led me to travel to 14 other countries, and live in six states here in the United States. In developing my own teaching style, I paid attention to what the best teachers I've ever learned from had in common. One thing that kept coming up was an ability to empathize. I've found that a good teacher should always be able to empathize with their students' struggles. This is a trait that I absolutely posses, and it's part of what makes me believe I'll be able to help you reach all of your educational goals. I find it immensely rewarding to see my students come to the realization that they can really master a topic that they previously thought was impossible for them to learn. I design my own curricula around empowering my students and liberating them from archaic methods of learning. It would be an honor to work with you in helping you reach all of your education goals.
