Education
Portland State University - Bachelors, Spanish
Experience
I was born in Oregon's Grants Pass. My teaching experience is varied. In Niwot and Los Angeles, I taught high school-level Spanish and social studies. I assisted in developing an art-centered thematic curriculum in Los Angeles. I received two National Endowment of the Humanities summer teacher grants that allowed me to study at the Prado Museum and Georgetown University. I volunteered in Honduras with the Peace Corps. I received my bachelor's in Spanish at Portland State University. I was trained at the California Culinary Academy. I offer my services as a tutor in my free time. I primarily tutor students in Spanish, social studies, American and world histories, and geography. I know how to teach to a variety of different learning styles, as well as how to develop a personalized lesson plan that focuses on achieving the student's goals while improving their grasp of the subject. I work one-on-one with the student to identify the challenges they face in their subject, whether they are struggling to grasp the intricacies of the French and Indian War or preparing for a big test in Spanish 3. Along with tutoring, I love music, movies, and non-fiction books. I spend a lot of time with family and friends.
