Bachelor degree major in English(education) from Shanghai International Studies University.
Experience
3 years experience at a quansi-immersion middle school program in Portland. responsible for creative curriculum development and daily classes as well as a Taichi teacher. 1 year co-teaching at a public middle school in Portland under Confucius Institute's program. AVID tutor certificate holder. AP Chinese teaching training completed. Worked in Middlebury method American college intensive program. Familiar with the college program and skillful at teaching adults. Tutored High school Chinese, middle school reading as well as a heritage student for traditional characters. I enjoy the clicking moment students have after the patient and professional guiding. I like teaching because I can easily understand or analyze out what is in the way when the student does not get it yet. Learning takes interest, takes prior knowledge, takes input, environment, and sometimes a good helper and I can easily relate to that. And getting to know a student is the first step before I teach and is the activity along the way to help me better the way to help.
