My approach to tutoring involves a lot of listening and asking questions first, and providing direction second. My belief is that a tutor should strive to pass on understanding and capability to their students, so that eventually, tutoring should no longer be necessary. This process is different for every student in every subject--sometimes all it takes is a mental shift; sometimes it takes patience and practice. Either way, I do my best to approach tutoring from various angles so that students learn to write and express themselves clearly, concisely, and with their own unique voice.
