Experience
I hold a master's in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, and a minor in German. I attended Evergreen State College and Western Washington University as an undergraduate and then obtained my MBA from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University. Currently, I serve as Vice President of Business and Clean Energy Development for a company that offers affordable homes designed to allow people to stay in their own homes as they age. I also play a principal role in a company that offers small businesses financing options. In the past, I've been an adjunct instructor, teaching "Leadership in Sustainable Management" in the MBA program at Marylhurst University, and tutored ESL in Japan for two years. In addition, I have professional translation and editorial experience, including co-translation of a guide for travelers. I offer tutoring in the areas of Writing, Business, English, English as a Second Language, Japanese, and German. I love to give my students the tools, insight, and impetus they need to pursue their goals and have a positive impact on the world. Outside of work, I enjoy back country skiing, traveling, fly fishing, cooking, playing the mandolin and flute, writing songs, and cooking.
